Privacy Policy
Who We Are
CRISP – Centre for Research in Schemes and Policies is a Non-Profit Organisation in India — for more details please visit crispindia.net. We operate the OLE (Online Exam) platform to help individuals, especially students and those early in their career, to assess their own skills.
This Privacy Policy applies to the OLE by CRISP mobile application (Android), the companion web platform at onlineexam.crispindia.net, and any associated services.
Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to conduct a valid, fraud-resistant assessment.

We do not collect location data, contacts, call logs, or any data unrelated to the assessment.
How We Use Your Data
- Conduct the assessment — present questions, record answers, calculate scores.
- Verify your identity — match your face across the pre-exam check and in-exam snapshots to confirm it’s you throughout.
- Prevent malpractice — detect impersonation, use of unauthorised materials, or coaching by another person during the exam.
- Generate your result report — produce dimension-wise scores (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, Collaboration) for you.
- Security & audit — maintain logs to investigate disputes and ensure system integrity.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose outside the above.
Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your data to anyone.
- CRISP technical staff may access data to investigate a flagged proctoring event or a dispute raised by you or your organisation.
- No third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or data brokers are used in this app.
Data Storage & Retention
- All data is stored on CRISP-managed servers located in India.
- Assessment records (answers, scores, behavioural logs) are retained for three years, after which they are deleted.
- Raw camera snapshots and audio clips are retained for 90 days after the exam, then permanently deleted, unless a formal dispute is open.
- ID document photos are retained until the programme concludes, then deleted.
Security
Data is transmitted over TLS-encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to the server and database is restricted to authorised CRISP staff. Camera and audio data is never cached on your device after being uploaded.
Your Rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (e.g. a misspelled name).
- Request erasure of your data, subject to the retention obligations above.
- Nominate a representative to exercise these rights on your behalf.
- Withdraw consent — note that withdrawing consent during an active assessment will end the exam session.
To request account deletion, see Section 08. For all other rights requests, contact us at the address in Section 10.
Account & Data Deletion
You may request the deletion of your OLE by CRISP account and all associated personal data at any time. To submit a deletion request:

Include: Your registered email address and full name.
We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days. Note that assessment records required for audit purposes may be retained for up to 90 days before permanent deletion, as described in Section 05.
Children
OLE by CRISP is intended for adults (18 years and above). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will delete the relevant data.

Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will notify you via the app before the change takes effect. The “Effective” date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the app after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
